Did you hear the explosion? That was our District calendar! It's tripled in size over the last week thanks to a very productive Masters and Wardens meeting last Monday. Not only are we brimming with upcoming degrees, but we have set dates for several table lodges, and such perennial favorites as the Wallkill Chicken Barbecue, Warwick Lobster Bake, Hudson River Pig Roast, and Jerusalem Temple's Night at the Renegades. Add in the local Grand Lodge events like our Grand Lecturer's Convention, the Masonic Family Days at Tappan and West Point, and the rededication ceremonies at Hoffman and Cornerstone Lodge and you can see we're going to be busy. All that without the District Investiture and installations... we're going to be stretching our cable-tows and our waistabnds, that's a lot of dinners coming up!
Speaking of dinners, tomorrow night (Saturday, March 17th) is the Annual ORDMA Dinner Dance which will be held at Anthony's Pier Nine in Newburgh, NY. A limited number of tickets are still available at $55 per person, and we'd like to see at least one table from every Lodge filled as we welcome our Grand Master and honor Wor. Bob Radulski, ORDMA's first President. The gala black tie evening will feature a full cocktail hour, beer, wine, and soda included (but a cash bar for everything else), a delicious dinner, short speeches, and dancing to live music throughout the evening. Please do not contact me about tickets, send your requests directly to Wor. Bob Morlang or Wor. Bruce Klein.A limited number of tickets will be available at the door and I look forward to seeing you there.
We have set a date for a District-Wide Investiture on May 24th at Hoffman Lodge in Middletown. This is the ceremony in which the Masters Elect are put in possession of the 'secrets of the Chair'. These evenings are very common across the Districts of our Grand Jurisdiction, and we have been trying to get Orange-Rockland up to snuff for several years now. By necessity, it has been scheduled after all of our Lodges are mandated to hold their elections, and we are asking Lodges not to hold their Installations until after this date. While only the Masters Elect and Past Masters are invited to the brief ceremony itself, we are inviting our Ladies and other Brothers to join us for this special evening which will also include dinner, a brief program for our other guests during the 20 minute ceremony, and a speaker for everyone to enjoy afterward. This is our way of thanking our hard working Past Masters and welcoming our new ones.
I would like to thank everyone who came out for the Child ID training in Walden last weekend, we now have ten out of twelve Lodges with teams trained in the use of the new systenm. Special thanks go out to Bro. Bob Morlang, Sr. and Mrs. Marie Sager for organizing this training Session, Mrs. Linda Anderson for coming over from Dutchess to teach it, and Wor. Wayne Flavin for helping organize our Child ID programs. Well done, and thanks again to each of you!
See you at the dinner tomorrow night!

We hope to see many of you take advantage of this important and very valuable opportunity. For more information, please contact the DDGM.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Wor. Harry Bauman, the oldest living Past Master on our Athelstane Lodge . Harry passed away on January 17th just a few weeks shy of his 96th birthday. He was a Brother Mason for close to 58 years. Our District extends its deepest condolences to the Bauman family and Brethren of Athelstane Lodge.
We have also received word that Bro. Gerry Meister of Athelstane Lodge was admitted on Thursday of last week to Good Samaritan Hospital and has been under the weather for the past couple of days. Please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
HELP WANTED
Entered Apprentice Degree Assistance Needed
Hoffman Lodge requires assistance with an Entered Apprentice Degrees
on Tuesday March 20th. Assistance is needed with the historical lecture,
charge, Lecture of Reasons, stewards, and conductors. The degree will
begin at 7:30 p.m. with dinner preceding it at 6:30 p.m. If you can

Restoration Help Wanted Cornerstone Lodge would like to announce to the District that the
restoration of McGarrah's Stagecoach Tavern is underway. We are looking
for volunteers to assist in the historic preservation of our building
which houses the oldest surviving Masonic lodge room in New York State
and the third oldest in the nation. Freemasons who donate two weekends
of labor or a cash donation of the equivalent to the project will
have their names permanently inscribed on a commemorative stone as
contributors. The official dedication of our Museum and Historic site
will be October 14, 2007 when the M:.W:. Neal I Bidnick, Grand Master
of Masons, will perform the opening ceremonies. This will be a few
days shy of the 190th Anniversary of the first Masonic meeting in
the building. We expect many visitors from the local historic community
to attend. Brothers, please mark this date on your calendars. There
will be much food and celebration.
