Welcome to the first edition of Orange-Rockland Masons Online, an online newsletter that we hope will become a regular vehicle for news and information throughout the District. At this time, we don't know how often we will publish because that's up to you. The more active you are, the more we'll have to write about! I suspect that in the beginning, we will be publishing frequent updates because we're in the middle of Installation Season. In any case, we hope you will take advantage of this new vehicle and will submit your events and news to the Webmaster.

Improving communication is a key concern of your new District leadership team but we need your help to succeed. If you know of a Brother who is not receiving the link to this newsletter, please e-mail the Webmaster with his e-mail address so we can put him on the list. We are hoping to cut down on individual message spam by going to this format, using the new district mailing list only to announce new issues and items of major importance or requiring immediate attention. We welcome your contributions, feedback, and suggestions. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

It is our hope to notify Brothers of new editions through the new district@o-rmasons.org mailing list. This is a moderated list, to be used only for relevant announcements and items of emergent nature that can't wait until the next edition of this newsletter. It will not be used to spam the Brethren, and only the district officers will be able to post to it. If you wish to submit something for that list or this newsletter, please contact the District Deputy Grand Master or Grand Director of Ceremonies. This newsletter will reside on the new server and only a link will be sent to subscribers in an e-mail, so as not to overflow mailboxes. Finally, if you like what you see, please tell people about it and ask them if they are on the list. If not, please forward their e-mails to the Webmaster so that he can add them. See you next week!

HELP WANTED

Hoffman Lodge requires assistance with the Drama on Tuesday May 16th. Several speaking and non-speaking roles are still available. If you can help out, please contact V:.W:. John Cola. We hope to see you there!

Wallkill Lodge invites the Brethren of our District to join them in marching in the Memorial Day Parade in Walden on Monday May 29th. For more information, please contact the Master-Elect, Bro. Robert Schroeder.

Goshen Lodge will also be marching in the Goshen Memorial Day Parade on Monday May 29th. For more information on the Goshen parade, please contact the Master, Wor. Lou Barbone.

We'd love to see as many Brothers from the District support these two Lodges in their efforts to show folks that Freemasonry is active in their communities! Keep an eye on future editions for updates on times, maybe we can march in both. Road trip anyone?

FUN STUFF

Can you find the 15 names in this puzzle?

All pertain to the first three degrees of Freemasonry. They may be found in many positions-horizontal, vertical and diagonal. A number are spelled backwards.

Here are some clues: There are two Hirams and a St. John. The GATU is mentioned three times and there are three prominent craftsmen. Others include a very wise man; a leader of his people; a prophet; a judge of Israel; a man with a ladder and a Greek mathmatician.
